Christopher Forbes is a concert saxophonist from North Smithfield, Rhode Island who has performed internationally with various ensembles in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom. Christopher was named the third prize winner of the 2020 Vandoren Emerging Artist competition and has been involved in commissions with composers such as David Amram and Joan Tower. He has recorded with multiple ensembles and is an advocate for new music showing the wide range of expression and technique that the saxophone can accomplish. Forbes holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston University, a master's degree from Northwestern University, and now is an active chamber and solo musician in the Chicago area. He has studied with saxophonists including Taimur Sullivan, Frederick Hemke, Marcus Weiss, and Ken Radnofsky.
